Who are we?
Turkey’s Unheard Voices is a youth lead organization where high school students are given the opportunity to advocate for positive change, tackle pressing issues, and actively engage with their community. Our mission is to provide a platform for high school students to advocate for global issues in alignment with the Seventeen Development Goals set forth by the United Nations. Through youth advocacy, Turkey’s Unheard Voices amplifies the voices of young people around the globe and encourages change makers to share their stories, perspectives, and solutions to societal challenges while fostering dialogue and collaboration. We are committed to make a lasting impact on our nation and to empower the next generation of leaders and change makers in Turkey.
Mission Statement
Turkey’s Unheard Voices was established by a group of high school students who recognized the need for greater representation and participation of youth in public life. Observing a gap between the opportunities available to young people and their potential to contribute meaningfully to society, we wanted to create an initiative that empowers youth and elevates their voices. The vision of Turkey’s Unheard Voices is to foster an environment where every member of society has a voice that is heard, respected, and influential in shaping a fair and inclusive world. At Turkey’s Unheard Voices, we believe in amplifying the voices of young individuals to ensure their perspectives, ideas, and experiences are acknowledged and integrated into the national discourse.
Structure
Turkey’s Unheard voices is coordinated entirely by highschool students. Our organization is structured under three main roundtables: law, economics, and politics. Every week, members gather together to engage in roundtable discussions where they debate about current global issues. Each roundtable publishes a research report every week. Our editorial team goes over the research reports to ensure that the reports are written in the highest quality possible. Once every month, each roundtable gathers together to brainstorm ways through which we can take action. As students, we aim to work closely with education institutions to create sustainable projects and initiatives that can contribute to rendering the negative effects of the current world issues. Each roundtable is given mentorship and guidance to develop and implement these initiatives.
